Ingrid Gruppetta commenced her studies with Elsie Gatt Haber, a relative.

She was awarded a scholarship through the Italian Cultural Institute and continued her pianoforte studies under the guidance of Maestro Roberto Caglieri and chamber music with Maestro Lupi at Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini di Firenze, where she received the Diploma di Pianoforte. She also holds other diplomas L.R.S.M., F.T.C.L.

She proceeded to London where she completed a one year post graduate course under the distinguished international pianist, John Bingham at Trinity College, Mandeville Place.

Ingrid Gruppetta has benefitted from several musicians amongst which are: Mary Tzambiras [Rome]; Maestro Vincenzo Vitale (Teramo); [Dame Fanny Waterman (Harrogate) and locally, Cynthia Turner.

She has made recital and concert appearances at The Manoel Theatre and other venues and has been broadcasted on radio and television and has collaborated with conductors Maestro Marco Faelli (double Mozart Concerto) and Maestro Michael Laus.

Gruppetta has performed in Moscow, under the patronage of Valentina Tereshkova, at the European House and at the National Theatre of Cairo.

She has acted as PRO on the original EPTA committee (Malta) on a voluntary basis and served on the adjudicating panel for the first EPTA Piano Competition. Ingrid has also formed part of the NCW committee Music Section.

She teaches all levels with successful student participation in competitions, European Scholarship Awards leading to pianoforte studies in leading music institutions.
