Natascha Chircop started her studies in Malta. After having been awarded a 5-year scholarship by the Italian Government she continued her studies at the Conservatory G.Verdi in Milano, Italy. There she graduated in pianoforte and flute, both as main instruments, with Prof. E Perrotta and Prof G Gallotta. Following a two year course, she also graduated in chamber music with Prof. Masi at the Academy of Florence, Italy.

After graduating, she followed a year of “Tirocinio” in piano at the Conservatorio and she also attended three “corsi annuali di perfezionamento” in piano at the Centro Asteria, Milano. She has studied with international celebrities such as Prof Barbizet, Prof Petroushansky and Prof Patero. She is a holder of Associate, Licentiate and Fellowship diplomas in both piano and flute from London’s Trinity College of Music and The Royal Schools of Music, and a B.Ed (Hons) degree in music from the University of Malta.

Performances have taken her to France, Germany, Spain, Greece, Syria, Portugal, England and New York. She has frequently performed in Milano, notably Mozart’s Piano Concerto for Two Pianos with the Guido Cantelli Orchestra as well as piano and flute recitals. Concerts as a soloist with orchestra include the Piano Concertos of Franck, Jirasek, Ravel, Grieg, Pace and Vella. Performances with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra for 2 pianos and orchestra vary from Poulenc to Saint Saens, Arnold, Tansman, McDonald, Mendelssohn and Bruch. She also works in the formation of piano duet having given various recitals in Italy, the Victoria Arts Festival, Mediterranea Festival, Gozo and also at the Manoel Theatre in Malta. She regularly plays flute and piccolo with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra as a part-timer. She is the flautist of the Janasharco Trio, with whom she has recorded a CD. She has recorded for Italian radio and for the international labels of Gega and Rugginenti. Recordings include the Piano Concerto of Vella with the Sofia Symphony Orchestra, the Flute Concerto of Vella with the National Orchestra of Porto, the Concerto for 2 pianos Solo by Vella as well as numerous other chamber works for flute and piano. She has been teaching piano and flute at the Johann Strauss School of Music for 17 years.
