In 2015 the School of Music Orchestra was reunited on the occasion of the School’s 40th anniversary under the baton of Mro Hermann Farrugia Frantz with tradition classical and contemporary repertoire by foreign and local composers.

In 2016 the Orchestra launched the annual Young Musicians’ Celebration Concert series under the direction of Mr Godfrey Mifsud with a diverse repertoire focusing on film music.

The MSM Orchestra intends to increase its participation locally thus also expanding its repertoire.

The current formation of the orchestra includes students, alumni, teachers and ex-teachers of the school.

Instrumental students following a performance course at the the Malta School of Music Malta are encouraged to join the school orchestra. Weekly rehearsals take place on Wednesdays at 5.30 p.m. till 7.00 p.m.
